The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager specialising in Passive Fire Protection and Remediation to join our growing team on a permanent basis.
This is a senior operational role responsible for overseeing the delivery of large-scale remediation and fire protection projects across residential and PBSA developments. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on programme, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining excellent client relationships and supporting wider operational strategy.
Working closely with senior leadership and project delivery teams, you will take ownership of multiple live projects, manage subcontractors and site teams, oversee commercial performance, and drive industry-leading standards across all aspects of passive fire protection and remediation works. Key Responsibilities
As our Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the management and coordination of the design team and full design process from RIBA stage 1-6.
Lead the successful delivery of multiple passive fire protection and remediation projects across student accommodation developments.
Manage complex remediation programmes involving fire stopping, compartmentation, fire barriers, structural steel protection, and associated compliance works.
Oversee project planning, programming, labour allocation, subcontractor management, and operational performance across multiple sites.
Take ownership of day-to-day client relationships, acting as a trusted and professional point of contact throughout project delivery.
Drive quality assurance standards across projects, ensuring full compliance with FIRAS standards, Golden Thread requirements, and all relevant fire safety legislation and regulations.
Work collaboratively with commercial teams and senior leadership to manage project margins, valuations, variations, forecasting, and overall commercial performance.
Support tender planning, operational strategy, and business growth initiatives as part of the wider Senior Management Team.
Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and audits to ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with programme expectations.
Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical support to site teams, supervisors, and subcontractors.
Ensure all health & safety procedures and statutory obligations are consistently met across projects.
About You
You will bring significant senior-level experience within passive fire protection and remediation, combined with a strong understanding of residential or PBSA construction environments.
You will have a proven track record of successfully managing multiple live projects simultaneously, while maintaining high standards of compliance, quality, and commercial performance.
The ideal candidate will be confident operating in a client-facing capacity, with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively across all levels of a project team.
You will also demonstrate strong technical knowledge across fire stopping, compartmentation, fire barriers, and structural steel protection, alongside a detailed understanding of FIRAS accreditation processes and Golden Thread compliance requirements.
Requirements
Significant experience of cradle to grave within passive fire protection and remediation projects, implementing management of design phases.
Strong construction background within residential, PBSA, or mixed-use developments.
Proven experience managing multiple projects, programmes, labour teams, and subcontractors.
Excellent knowledge of FIRAS standards, Golden Thread compliance, and current fire safety regulations.
Commercial awareness with experience managing valuations, variations, and project profitability.
Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
SMSTS certification.
NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or equivalent qualification desirable.
IFE Level 3 in Passive Fire Protection desirable.
FIRAS Supervisor accreditation desirable.
Full UK driving licence.
