We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Painter / Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role involves a variety of tasks focused on maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of our properties and facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in painting and general maintenance, with an eye for detail and a proactive approach to ensuring our spaces remain in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities:
Painting & Decorating:
Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary.
Apply paints, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, both indoors and outdoors.
Ensure a high-quality finish and attention to detail in all painting tasks.
Repair and maintain painted surfaces, including patching up cracks, holes, and imperfections.
General Maintenance:
Carry out general maintenance tasks such as fixing plumbing leaks, repairing minor electrical faults, and addressing minor building repairs.
Inspect and maintain property fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
Replace and maintain doors, windows, locks, and other hardware.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure they are in good condition.
Health & Safety:
Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and ensure safe working practices are always adhered to.
Report any issues that could affect the safety, cleanliness, or security of the property.
Other Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to repair requests and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Work closely with other team members to ensure tasks are completed within agreed timeframes.
Maintain inventory of paint and maintenance supplies and notify management when restocking is required.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a painter and maintenance worker or in a similar role.
Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and types of finishes.
Ability to perform basic repairs (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical).
Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with a team.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
Full UK driving licence (if required for the role).
Desirable Skills:
Previous experience in commercial or residential property maintenance.
Certification in relevant areas (e.g., electrical, plumbing, or health and safety).
Basic knowledge of building codes and regulations.
