Responsibilities:
Assist with preparation of year end accounts and reports
Sole preparation of monthly management accounts, with overhead analysis and reporting
Regular balance sheet reconciliations
Intercompany accounting and reconciliation, along with posting monthly PAYE journals
Maintaining fixed asset register
Cost tracking and providing variable analysis on a monthly basis
Overseeing the VAT and CIS returns and submissions, carried out by our finance assistant and purchase ledger
Close monitoring and assistance with query and supplier resolutions
Overseeing accounts payable and finalise monthly payment runs
Carry out monthly departmental audits and reviews
Supporting the finance manager and wider team as required
Skills/Requirements:
Skilled in Management Accounting
Inter Company Accounting
Skilled in VAT and CIS returns
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Part-qualified or qualified CIMA/ACCA preferred; however, candidates with significant relevant accounting and finance experience will also be considered
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt your messaging for different audiences
A basic understanding of the structure and purpose of financial reports
A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to support and coordinate multiple project
A strong sense of ownership, with the ability to independently manage tasks and take the lead on briefs when required.
Excellent attention to detail
Experience in construction industry and an understanding of CIS preferred
MCR Benefits:
Salary of £35,000 to £40,000 per annum (DOE)

23 days annual leave (increasing by 1 day per year of service up to a maximum of 25 days), plus all statutory bank holidays and your birthday off as an additional paid day of leave to celebrate
