MCR Property Group are looking for a Tier 1 Construction personnel to take on the role of Health and Safety Manager for our operations in South of England, based in London. This role will be construction focused and will include assisting in educating and training our site teams in complying with all Health, Safety, and Environmental and Fire legislation as well as carrying out health, safety and environmental audits on our sites in the South of England.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience in the below
Assisting site teams in reviewing RAMS and ensuring contractors are following the procedures
Undertake construction site fire, health and safety inspections to ensure that the workplace / operations are compliant with the company health and safety management system, legislation and regulations
Working with site management in accident and incident investigation ensuring robust investigation and resolve
Ensuring compliance with current health and safety (including CDM and fire safety) legislation
Providing in-house training sessions to ensure staff keep up to date with company policies, procedures and safety regulations
Providing guidance on safety equipment
Manage all health and safety administration, ensuring that adequate records are maintained in accordance with legislative requirements, policies, codes of practice and procedures
Support contract managers, supervisors, foreman and site managers in the management of staff and in relation to all health, safety, and environmental matters
Performing regular fire safety inspections and ensuring that electrical systems and firefighting equipment are well maintained and that they meet all necessary codes and regulations
Support the Group Health and Safety Manager in the monitoring and reviewing policies and procedures to ensure that they are properly implemented and comply with changing legislation and best practice.
Ensuring compliance with the company’s health and safety management systems
Experience
Up to date knowledge of the Health and Safety legislation
Knowledge of CDM 2015
Qualification
NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety qualification or equivalent
NEBOSH Construction qualification or equivalent (preferred)
NEBOSH Fire qualification or equivalent (preferred)
Environmental Qualification (preferred)
Member of IOSH or equivalent professional body
Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
The successful candidate will work with the Group Health and Safety Manager to continue the ongoing improvements of the health and safety management systems across the business.
